A LETTER FROM OUR FOUNDER

I began my career at 18 in the superyacht industry, training to become an officer, where precision, safety and material preservation are non-negotiable. During that time, I saw firsthand the impact traditional chemical cleaning systems have on the ocean, materials and human health.

Many products used daily are linked to respiratory issues and long-term health risks, while also being toxic to aquatic life. The alternatives were often weak or abrasive, damaging surfaces rather than caring for them. Yet the response was always the same: this is the way it has always been done.

Later, working on water sanitation projects in Uganda, I saw what clean really means. Clean water meant survival.

Washdown was born from a simple belief: you should always leave a place better than you found it.
